Updated: 3 days ago

I had just an incredible time with Jon and Molly at Lincoln Memorial . I was really surprised when they told me that they are professional Frisby players . Can you imagine how happy I was to see how they play Frisby. This couple is full of energy, love and happiness. I enjoyed every moment wth them. It was such an honor to work with really extraordinary people and document their happiness.

Making a Lincoln Memorial engagement session feel personal

A recognizable Washington, DC location does not have to produce generic photographs. Bringing in something the couple genuinely enjoys, like a frisbee, adds movement and gives the session a natural rhythm.

Why movement photographs well

Simple activities reduce the pressure to perform for the camera. Instead of holding a pose, the couple has something real to react to, which usually leads to better expressions and more spontaneous photographs.

How to plan a session like this

Start with the experience rather than a long list of poses. Choose one or two visual priorities, build the route around the best light, and leave enough time to walk, talk, and settle into the session. When several locations are involved, fewer stops usually create a stronger gallery because there is more time to photograph what is actually happening.

What helps photographs feel natural

You do not need to know how to pose. I give simple direction when it improves the composition, then let movement and conversation take over. Comfortable shoes, an outfit you can move in, and a little flexibility with timing make a bigger difference than trying to reproduce photographs from someone else's session.
