Blagden Alley

Mark and Katie's Romantic Journey: From Navy Neighbours to Eloping at the Spanish Steps in Washington D.C.

Mark and Katie's love story began while they were both serving in the Navy and stationed in Sicily. As neighbors, they became good friends and even developed a bit of a crush on each other. However, it wasn't until several years later that their relationship became romantic.

When Mark was preparing to separate from the Navy and searching for job opportunities, he reached out to Katie, who was living in Minneapolis. She helped him get in touch with potential employers in the area and invited him to her cousin's wedding. The couple spent a magical long weekend together in Minneapolis and took a road trip to Katie's hometown, where Mark met her entire large family. It was during this trip that they decided to start dating, and the rest is history.

Mark and Katie later eloped in Washington D.C., at the Spanish Steps, with a small ceremony attended by family members. Their wedding photo shoot took place at Blagden Alley, and before heading to their reception, the couple stopped at their favorite ice cream shop, Jenni's, to treat themselves to some sweet treats. It was a memorable day for the newlyweds, and they are looking forward to a lifetime of love and happiness together.

Blagden Alley

In the 19th century, hundreds of intersecting alleys existed behind DC’s blocks of rowhouses. DC’s hippest remaining Blagden alley is the great place to walk around, make pictures and capture great shared moments. It is one of the best spots for an Industrial style engagement session. Plus there are great restaurants in the Alley if you want to stop there for a drink in between!
